The MILENIO TITAN DESERT by GAES MTB Marathon has a firm commitment to Morocco, its people and its environment. The passage of the modern equivalent of a gigantic caravan with all of its personnel and logistical scale could seriously endanger the integrity of the terrain covered by the race if sufficient care is not taken.
It is important to stress the priority that has been given since the establishment of the MILENIO TITAN DESERT by GAES to a careful monitoring of the races passage.
After the race the terrain is left as if nothing had taken place in the area. Race staff takes great pains to gather and recycle all the waste produced.
Once the camps where the caravan is lodged are struck, absolutely everything is picked up. No rubbish or waste of any kind is left, and at the water points all empty water bottles are disposed of. In addition, the regulations forbid cyclists to litter the course. They are not permitted to jettison the pages of the roadbook during a stage so as to avoid inundating the route with paper they must deliver the complete roadbook at the end of each day.
RPM and the MILENIO TITAN DESERT by GAES understand that care of and respect for the land and the environment must be an intrinsic part of the race.
