Bou navigates towards the leadership in the Stage Garmin

The Titán is one of the most singular races of the planet and it has been demonstrated in today’s stage. More than 400 participants who continue in competition have had to confront 25 kilometers without any type of signposting, so the bikers with more skill with the GPS have been the most benefited.

The best one has been Roberto Bou, who in the second CP of the day, that of the Pass Garmin in Km. 25, already overcome in 9 minutes his rivals, demonstrating that he had ideated the ideal route among the dunes of the Erg Chebbi and the alternatives tracks the route offered.

“I knew that in the dunes the pace is very slow, and my strategy was to go for the sides avoiding them. We studied it last night until the dawn with the team and it was a hidden card that has gone out to the perfection. Many things can still happen, yesterday I lost 9 minutes in a bad strategy. Now, I am going to fight to the maximum, because to be the leader gives me a lot of strength” has explained a moved Bou, who has started crying after his spectacular victory.

With these results, the Titan is very favorable for Roberto Bou, who overcomes in more than 6 minutes Betalú. In addition, he has added the bonus of 90 seconds for being the best in navigation.

Nevertheless, in this race nothing is sure as the leader and winner of the two first stages has been able to verify, José Luis Gómez Miranda, who has lost more than 25 minutes.

In women, Anna Ramírez (Esteve-KH7), the winner of 2015 has given a step forward and perfectly guided by Diego Tamayo – who yesterday lost his options of the general classification - has clearly overcome her two big rivals; Olga Echenique and Ramona Gabriel, with an advantage superior to 48 minutes.

It has been a very special stage, where the lovers of adventure and navigation have been able to enjoy of the fabulous landscapes that the dunes of Merzouga offer to cut away kilometers and continue advancing in this very hard edition of the Titán Desert, both for the area and for the meteorological extreme conditions.

The race overcomes its equator and tomorrow it faces another mythical day, the beginning of the marathon stage, where the bikershave no type of assistance - not mechanics not of physical therapist - and they must sleep in a common tent in Fezzou's camp, after 104 km.
