Solidarity actions have grown with the MILENIO TITAN DESERT by GAES. Since the first edition in 2006 have been developed for humanitarian action to the people of Morocco.

Repsol Foundation has been one of the more proactive humanitarian foundations in developing this type of humanitarian actions in Africa since its inception and has worked closely with the Titan Desert "for years. In 2009 taking advantage of the test step was completed by Tazenakht collaboration with the Repsol Foundation and its project Volver a Vivir which led to Morocco 300 chairs, crutches and tricycles for the physically disabled in the area of Erfoud.

In 2012 starts a new charity project in addition to all that over the seven year history of the race have been made to give an opportunity for the people who welcome us.

Hand in hand GAES Foundation and Repsol Foundation, in 2012 promoting a new project to combat the problems of hearing of the inhabitants of nearby towns to the passage of the race, with the ASSOCIATION SIJILMASSA POUR INTEGRATION DES SOURD-MUETS ARFOUD, located in Erfoud.

To do this, we have prepared a 4x4 truck with a soundproof cabin and enabled to auditory analysis and adaptation, if necessary, digital hearing aids. A team of 2 volunteers GAES Solidarity with two volunteers from the Repsol Foundation, will receive daily about 30 affected by these problems. Two off-road vehicles will be responsible for picking up people with hearing problems in their home towns and move them to the various camp Bivouac of the MILENIO TITAN DESERT by GAES where every day between 12.00 and 18.00 relevant tests will be conducted , to those affected.

Thanks to this joint action between GAES Solidarity and Repsol Foundation, those afflicted with problems that are disabled for lack of access to hearing aids receive for free new devices that will improve your quality of life.

urrently, children and adults with hearing problems in the province of Errachidia have many problems to access quality medical supplies to treat their hearing impairment and with this new initiative will address site needs dozens of people affected. In addition, the organization of MILENIO TITAN DESERT by GAES, from the medical service of the race and after the proper diagnosis, proceed to the extraction of impacted earwax with the medical supplies transferred from Spain to specific patients in need.

In the wake of the race, RPM EVENTS acquires the commitment to train a local person who will move to the technical facilities of GAES in Barcelona to receive the training necessary for the maintenance of hearing aids delivered in Morocco. It also will provide financial and logistical support for the maintenance of the equipment for years.

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION REPSOL: BACK TO LIFE, PROJECT IN AFRICA

Repsol Foundation continues to develop social activities in Africa through the link established with the Dakar Rally. For years social works were carried out over areas Rally in Africa: Mauritania, Morocco and Senegal chiefly that after the departure of the race to South America bereft of action related to Caravan Rally. Repsol Foundation however, continued its work and commitment to the disadvantaged people of northern Africa and has continued humanitarian operations in these countries.

ABOUT GAES SOLIDARITY

GAES solidarity is an area of GAES who was born 15 years ago and aims are social actions, especially in hearing. In order to raise public awareness about the difficulties of hearing impairment for years GAES conducted specific actions to assist those most in need.

GAES solidarity participates with joint public and private institutions in projects related to hearing health in order to publicize the need to prevent hearing problems and fight its consequences, once you have expressed.

For all the editions of the race, we have made it a point to work with local suppliers, hire as many local people as possible and provision the camps with local food purchased in Morocco. In the end, more than sixty percent of the total budget stays in Morocco, generating wealth in the area through which the race passes.

Along with the competition itself, a series of actions have been promoted by the organisation and its participants which include donations of school and medical materials, financial contributions, and batches of sports equipment or sport clothing deposited with associations in the villages we pass through. In 2007 and 2008, a Moroccan team from the village of Ramlia participated in the race with the help of the race sponsors and the organisers, who donated all the sports equipment, bikes and registration fees for the cyclists.

In 2009, taking advantage of the passage of the race through Tazenakht, we collaborated with the Repsol Foundation and its To Live Again project, which brought to Morocco 300 wheelchairs, crutches and tricycles for the physically disabled in the Erfoud area. In the 2010 edition, Doctors Without Borders, as part of the Contador Specialized MSF team, sponsored by Alberto Contador and the Specialized bike shop, sold solidarity kilometres for the team members.

Our intention is to continue to grow this relationship and to be able to add our grain of sand to the development of a region that contributes so much to everything related to the race.

The humanitarian actions in Morocco revolving around the MILENIO TITAN DESERT by GAES are of great importance to us and we will continue to give all our support to the projects that arise from it.

In the most recent editions of the race, the number of actions and requests for collaboration received has increased. Our intention is to make the same opportunities available to all.

RPM guarantees its collaboration in negotiating customs formalities when we have the necessary free space in our lorries. This space cannot be confirmed until March, however.

Delivery should be handled by the requesting agency itself. The best way to manage this is through an association in Erfoud that can vouch for the entry of items into Morocco.
