The winner of the Adventure by Würth classification is not the rider who goes fastest, pushes the most watts or rides the lightest bike. It rewards the person who best adapts to the conditions, is self-sufficient, knows how to take care of and repair his or her trusted mount and is able to ride 400 kilometres in the desert without a massage.

If you are that type of person, this classification is for you. The Adventure by Würth classification bans technical support or physiotherapy of any kind, as well as help from other participants (which is only allowed during the race, not in the camps). Entrants may have their bikes shipped to the race venue and assembled by a mechanical service. The specifications for the classification are set out in the race rules.

The organisation will provide a specific area where participants in this category can repair their bikes and have someone to help them in anything they may need. This area will be operational from 1 November at 11 am and at the end of each stage. There will be no Adventure zone for the final stage.

Würth, the sponsor of the Adventure classification, will support participants by providing them with the following materials:

  • Workshop pump
  • Suspension pump
  • Compressor for fitting tubeless tyres
  • 1.5 hex keys up to 8 or 10 millimetres
  • The most common Torx sizes on our bicycles are T10, T15 and T25, although it is best to have a set of bits with sizes ranging from T10 to T30 or T40
  • Set of spanners
  • Adjustable spanners

  • Crank extractor
  • Pliers
  • Screwdrivers
