Gobik presents the jerseys of the Garmin Titan Desert 2019
January 23 rd 2019 - 10:20
For the first time in its fourteen years of history, all the participants in the Garmin Titan Desert will have a jersey for the race, on which they can print the words “FINISHER 2019” once they have crossed the finish line.
The presentation of the participant’s jersey revealed a garment that symbolizes the orange colour that the sun acquires on the horizon in the desert. It is based on Gobik’s CX Pro model, a permanent fixture in cyclists’ wardrobes.
They are garments inspired by “the colours that surround the race: ochre earth and dunes and, of course, the amber colour of the sun. We want to wrap all the participants in the spirit of the desert, and the jerseys will accompany them like a second skin“, says Gobik CEO Alberto García.
Gobik will also provide the race leader jerseys: red for men and turquoise blue for women.
“I think that both the designs and quality of the garments are ideal, in line with the quality of a race like the Garmin Titan Desert” says race director Manuel Tajada, who is happy with “an innovative and colourful design that will surely please the competitors”.
Gobik has also prepared 2,500 garments to dress the human caravan that accompanies the event: red for the organisation, yellow for the medical staff, green for support staff, black for press and white for VIPs.
The series will end with a special edition, available shortly on the Gobik and Garmin Titan Desert websites. It will include the CX Pro jersey, the Absolute shorts and different items such as an inner vest, hat and socks.
Exclusive laundry service for a limited number of participants
The laundry service “will be one of the big novelties of this edition”, says Manuel Tajada.
Once registration for the event has been completed, Gobik will activate a registration system on its website in chronological order, limited to a maximum number of 200 participants, including the 58 Titan Legends of 2019.
On scrutineering day in Morocco, Gobik will give each participant entered in this activation a bag with his/her race number. He/she will be able to use the premium service in 3 stages. “We have been thinking of implementing for some time, and working with Gobik, the riders can finally use it”, adds Manuel Tajada.
To do this, each participant should certify that one of the two garments that (as a maximum) are included in the washing bags are of the Gobik brand.
“To date -continues Manuel Tajada- the organisation had a clothes washing area. Starting with this edition, the lucky people who can enjoy this service will have more time to rest and prepare the next stage”.
Gobik is a young, dynamic textile company with eight years behind it; it is located in Yecla (Murcia). Right from the start it has had the personalisation of cycling wear in its DNA.

Its sponsorship of the road racing team Caja Rural-RGA Seguros for the 2019 season was recently announced, as well as the teams of the Fundación Alberto Contador.
