The Adventure by Würth classification is one in which the winner is not the fastest rider, nor the one who generates most watt energy or who rides the lightest bike. The Adventure by Würth classification rewards the person who best adapts to the conditions, is self-sufficient, and knows how to take care of and repair his or her bike; and who is able to ride 600 kilometres in the desert without a massage.
If you are that type of person, this is the classification for you. In the Adventure by Würth classification no mechanical assistance is allowed, nor physiotherapy of any kind or help from other participants (this is only allowed during the race, not in the bivouacs). It is allowed that the bicycles are transported to Morocco and mounted by a mechanical service.
You can consult all the conditions for the classification in the Race Rules.
This classification will be restricted the participants who enrol before 20 December.
The organisation by Würth will provide a specific area where the ‘Adventure’ participants can repair their bicycle, and have someone to help them in anything they may need. This area will be operational from November 1 at 11 am and at the end of each stage (except the marathon stage). On the day of arrival there will be no Adventure zone.
Würth, the company sponsoring the Adventure classification, will support participants by providing them with the following materials:
- Suspension pump
- Compressor for fitting tubeless tyres
- 1.5 hex keys up to 8 or 10 millimetres
- The most common Torx sizes on our bicycles are T10, T15 and T25, although it is best to have a set of bits with sizes ranging from T10 to T30 or T40
