INTRODUCTION

The Titan Desert is continuing the bicycle transport service this year. It is very useful for participants, thanks to the convenience involved in not having to transport their bikes over long distances.

TRANSPORT FROM SPAIN

For the transport of bicycles to the Titan Desert 2021, the participants in the race should choose one of the following shipment systems:

• By selecting this option, the participant should know that he/she will have to transport his/her bicycle throughout the trip.
• Once the event is finished, all participants will collect their bicycles on 15 October before 18:30.

CONDITIONS FOR TRANSPORT

• MAXIMUM AUTHORIZED WEIGHT OF THE TRUNK: 20 kg.
• MAXIMUM DIMENSIONS OF THE PACKAGE ADMITTED: 160x90x22cm (dimensions of the TITAN TRUNK).

PROCEDURE

Before the event

• The participant must come to the warehouse on 27 and 28 September from 09:00 to 14:00 or from 15:00 to 18:00 to pack his/her bicycle.
• The participant will be given a specially designed TITAN TRUNK for transport (160x90x22cm). *If you want to collect the case earlier you should do so in the RPM-MKTG warehouse (Carretera del Mig 46, 08907. Hospitalet de Llobregat).
• The Organization can send the trunk at an additional cost of €10 per trunk.
• The participant must bring the tools needed to disassemble the bicycle and the correct packaging, as well as protective material, as indicated in the Titan Desert tutorial “How to package my bike”.
• To access the facilities at BCN Euro Express you need to pass through a toll barrier where you will collect a ticket.
• After the packaging is completed the participant will sign a delivery slip and must stamp the exit ticket.
• The participant may withdraw his/her bicycle on 9 October after completing the scrutineering process in Morocco. * Important: do not put the Camelbak inside the TITAN TRUNK, it is needed for scrutineering.

After the event

• The participant will hand over his/her bicycle to the Organization after the final stage on 15 October before 18:30.
• You can collect the bike from the BCN Euro Express warehouse in Barcelona on 21 and 22 October between 09:00 and 14:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00.
• To access the facilities at BCN Euro Express you first pass through a toll barrier where you will collect a ticket.
• The participant will receive his/her bicycle after showing an Identity Card/Passport*.
• The participant will sign the sheet to say he/she has collected his/her bicycle and must stamp the exit ticket.
*To collect another participant’s bicycle you must present a document authorising this by that participant, and a photocopy of his/her Identify Card/Passport

** From 23 October onwards a fee of €10/extra day will be charged for demurrage (delayed storage).

• Cost for Iberian Peninsula: €100.
• Cost for Balearic Islands: €130.

The price includes RETURN transport. It includes the delivery of the Titan Trunk to the participant’s home, the collection of the bicycle from the participant’s home and the delivery of the bicycle to the participant’s home after the race.

GENERAL PROCEDURE

Dates:

• Deadline for contracting the service: 2nd September 2021

Before the event

• The Organization sends the official Titan trunk (160x90x22cm) to the participant’s home.
• The participant packages his/her bicycle as indicated in the Titan Desert tutorial “How to package my bike”. It is very important to mark the trunk with the race (bib) number.
• A courier service will collect the bicycle at the participant’s home, after contacting him/her and agreeing a time, and will then transport it to the BCN Euro Express warehouse.
• The participant can collect his/her bicycle on 9 October after completing the scrutineering procedure in Morocco.

*Important: do not put the Camelbak inside the TITAN TRUNK, it is needed for scrutineering.

After the event

• Participants must hand over their bicycles to the Organization after the last stage on 15 October before 18:30.
• The participant will receive the bike at their home during the week beginning 25 October.

 • The participant should select this option if he/she contracted mechanical assistance that includes transport arrangements.

TERMS FOR TRANSPORT

• MAXIMUM AUTHORIZED WEIGHT OF THE PACKAGE: 20 kg
• MAXIMUM PACKAGING DIMENSIONS ALLOWED: 160x90x22 cm (Titan case dimensions).

• The courier service will be provided with the TITAN TRUNK, specially designed for transport (160x90x22 cm). *If you wish to collect the trunk in advance you will need to do this in the RPM-MKTG warehouse (Carretera del Mig 46, 08907. Hospitalet de Llobregat).
• The Organization can arrange the sending of the trunk at an additional cost of €10 per unit.
• The courier service should deliver the bicycle, suitably packaged, in the BCN Euro Express warehouse on 27 and 28 September from 09:00 to 14:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00.
• The participant may collect his/her bicycle on 9 October after completing the scrutineering procedure in Morocco.

• Participants must hand over their bicycles to the Organization after the last stage on 15 October before 18:30.
• The courier service must collect the bicycle from the warehouse on 21 and 22 October from 09:00 to 14:00 and de 15:00 a 18:00.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORT

For the transport of bicycles to the Titan Desert, international participants in the race should select one of the following shipment methods:

*IMPORTANT: Travel packages organized by our specialist travel agency “Aventurismo” DO NOT INCLUDE THE TRANSPORT OF THE BICYCLE. Participants who contract this package need to select one of the following options.

After the event

• The participant should hand over his/her bicycle to the Organization after the last stage on 15 October before 18:30.
• The participant will receive his/her bicycle at home during the week beginning 25 October.

FLIGHTS ARRANGED BY THE ORGANIZATION – LIMITED PLACES!

 Participants who are NOT RESIDENT IN EUROPE who have booked the charter flight arranged by the Organization from Madrid or Barcelona can transport their bicycle, provided they have been accepted by the Organization. Consult availability at: info@titandesert.com

PROCEDURE

Before the event

• The participant must carry out the check-in process in MAD or BCN airport.
• Collect your bicycle from the baggage carrousel at the destination airport.
• Hand over your bicycle to the logistics truck located in the parking lot outside the destination airport,
• Participants can collect their bicycles after the scrutineering procedure on 9 October. *Bicycles cannot be collected until the medical record card has been filled in.

After the event

• The participant must hand over his/her bicycle to the Organization after the last stage on 15 October before 18:30.
• On 16 October he/she will collect the bicycle from the logistics truck in the parking lot of the airport.
• Then carry out the normal check-in procedure.

PROCEDURE FOR CONTRACTING THE SERVICE

• Participants should pay for the service through their Titan Desert account at the following link.
• After Registration finishes, the Organization will provide a form (in a notice) on which you can choose the transport option you require. You will need to complete all the data requested.
• The transport procedure will begin immediately after the close of Registration and reception of the notice referred to above.
